The right full height shutters for your home
Full height shutters cover the entire window from top to bottom in a single set of panels. It’s the most widely installed shutter configuration and gives the cleanest, most architectural result. When the panels are folded open against the wall, the window is completely clear. With the panels closed and louvres open, you have privacy with full natural light. With the louvres closed, the room is quiet and significantly darker.
Full height shutters work in virtually every room and with most window types — standard windows, bay windows, larger windows and some door configurations. The panels are manufactured to the precise height of your specific window recess, which is why the measuring visit matters and why the lead time from consultation to installation is 12 weeks or more.
John installs every set of full height shutters himself. Getting the panel alignment right, the louvre tension consistent across the full height and the installation clean within the recess takes experience and care. Nicky handles all bookings and will keep you updated on the manufacturing and delivery timeline from start to finish.

What positions can full height shutters be set to?
Full height shutters have three main positions: panels folded fully open against the wall for a completely clear window; panels closed with louvres open for privacy with natural light; and panels closed with louvres shut for maximum privacy and light reduction. The louvres can also be tilted to any position in between.
Are full height shutters suitable for all window types?
Full height shutters work well across most standard window types. For bay windows, each section is measured and manufactured individually. John will assess your specific windows at the consultation and confirm the most suitable configuration.
What’s the difference between full height and tier-on-tier shutters?
Full height shutters have a single set of panels covering the whole window, operated together. Tier-on-tier shutters divide the window into two independent sections — upper and lower — that can be operated separately, giving more flexibility over light and privacy independently at different heights. John will advise at the consultation on which suits your room better.
What is the lead time for full height shutters?
Full height shutters are manufactured bespoke and the lead time is 12 weeks or more from consultation. Nicky will confirm the current lead time when you get in touch.
